Yuan Xiaoqian, female, was found abandoned at the gate of Yuanjiang welfare institute on Feb.17th, 2004 and then sent into our institute by the gatekeeper. At this time she was stayed in a fruit box and wearing red-flower cotton cloth and a yellow-flower hat. She has round face, big eyes and thick hairs. Her height was 20.09 inches, weight was 8.36 lbs, head size was 13.79 inches and chest size was 13.59 inches.Her umbilical cord had fallen off. Her heart and lung was normal. According to this information our doctors estimated her DOB to be Jan.28th, 2004 and named her Xiaoqian. Yuan, family name, is the name of our institute, qian means pretty. Under the care of the caretaker, her development and growth was well. She had some eczema because she drank milk. But she had recovered after taking medicine.
When she was one month old, she liked sleeping. She had throatiness when crying. She curled her body and she couldn’t keep her head steadily. She turned over when she was relieving. She could watch the caretaker`s face and smile.She could adjust her body when the caretaker held her.
When she was two-month old, she had 2-4 long-time sleeping. She slept over 7 hours during the night. She liked bathing. She felt angry and cried when the caretaker took her from tub. She could raise her head while lying on her back.
When she was three-month old, her hands could open but hardly to hold things. She could control her body freely. She could stand with some help. She knew sounds and the caretaker. Her eyes turned cooperated and agile.
When she was four-month old, she could hold bottle. Her eyes could follow the moving subject. Her feeling of fear turned less and less. She attracted the other people. She was interested in playing in the walker. She could ride walker a moment.
When she was five-month old, she could say more words, imitate sounds and know familiar people. She ate solid food. She was interested in bottle. She could catch toy when she met it. She stood up freely.
When she was six-month old, she knew the caretaker`s voice. When the caretaker said “a”, she said “a wawa”. She could clap her mouth imitating the caretaker.
When she was seven-month old, she could babble and feed herself. She liked sucking finger and playing small subject such as cup and building block. She started to imitate and search her environment. She liked sounding toys such as rattle-drum.
When she was eight-month old, she babbled more and more. Her speaking was growing well. She could nip subject and hold toys. She would be angry and cry when you took her toy away. She liked getting along with the caretaker. She was afraid of stranger. She always wanted to catch subject.
When she was nine-month old, she liked hearing talking. She was interested in toys in the front of her chest. She could stand up being supported. She could walk in the walker.
We foster all the children in group. Under the care of the caretaker, Yuan Xiaoqian has a regular routine.
She gets up at 7:00, naps at 11:30-14:00 and goes to sleep at 19:00.
She would also take other two short naps.
She has five meals per day.
Her has breakfast at 7:30, lunch at 11:00 and dinner at 17:30. Her main foods are rice powder, meat, egg and vegetable.
At 14:30pm and 2:00am she has two snacks, including egg, milk, fruit and cake.
Her favorite foods are cake and egg. She has one bowl movement and 6-8 urines. Her sleeping is always good.
